The Essex County Homelessness Hub (ECH2) provides services to people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness in the County of Essex. ECH2 provides a vast scope of services, including but not limited to housing search support, CHR application support, income recovery, community referrals, advocacy, outreach, provision of food, harm reduction, phone/computer use for housing/employment related communications, and much more. Rooted in the Leamington community as a barrier-free, safe space for individuals to come as they are and be supported and respected, our team of dynamic, hard-working individuals are genuinely invested in supporting the wellness and self-determination of the people we support as they search for safe, sustainable housing.

The Essex County Homelessness HubCoordinator (Leamington)will provide and coordinate all services for clients who have histories of homelessness, psychiatric disability, substance abuse, criminal justice, and other trauma. They will also be responsible for the supervision of agency staff on site, coordination with community partners on and off-site, participation in relevant committees and oversight of other programs/events offered by or through The Hub.

As The Essex County Homelessness Hub Coordinator (Leamington) your contribution to the team will include:

  • Developing and overseeing programming on site
  • Training, supervising and evaluating staff on site
  • Actively participating in committees related to homelessness in Essex County
  • Collaborating with community partners at ECH2 and in the community
  • Accepting requests for service from a number of sources in the community
  • Conducting assessments of individuals to determine eligibilityfor the program
  • Working in cooperation with other community services to identify needs of those receiving support and making appropriate referrals by providing accurate referral information to the individuals receiving support, following the principles of user self-determination.
  • Assisting in training and evaluation of students and interns.
  • Oversight of daily operations of The Hub, maintaining supplies for the staff and space, monitoring for maintenance issues, and upholding positive relationship with landlord/neighboring agencies
  • Oversight of Essex County Emergency Shelter Program
  • Maintaining quality assurance checks and reports for data/reporting/updates done by ECH2 staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree; Bachelor of Social Work (preferred), or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working within the housing industry and homelessness
  • Experience developing programming
  • Experience supervising a diverse team
  • Knowledge of community programs and services in Windsor Essex County is Essential and understanding of the Housing First model and principles
  • Must have a valid drivers license, insurance and use of your own vehicle

Qualifications:

  • First Aid Training is an asset
  • French language skills would be considered an asset

Job Type:Full-time

Shift Information:Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Evenings and weekends required.

Pay: $56,933 per annum. ($29.59/hr)
