Overview:
Our client, a fast growing industrial services company in Sherwood Park is seeking a Sr. Credit Analyst to join their team. This is a contract position with the opportunity to convert into a permanent role. The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible for working through a backlog of credit requests and establishing credit limits for existing client accounts.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assign credit limits to new and existing commercial accounts, particularly those acquired without preset limits.
- Review job estimates, trade references, financials, and third-party credit reports (e.g., Equifax, Dun & Bradstreet) to assess risk and determine appropriate credit limits.
- Manage and triage the shared credit inbox, ensuring all new credit requests and inquiries are reviewed and resolved daily.
- Conduct background checks and research on new clients using internal systems and external data sources.
- Set up approved accounts in both internal systems (ERP/CRM) and notify sales, finance, and operations of account status.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to ensure credit policies align with company risk tolerance while supporting business growth.
- Track and report on account approvals, average credit limits, and turnaround times to help optimize department performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credit decisions and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Handle a high volume of onboarding, targeting the setup of 2030 new accounts per week with quick turnaround and minimal errors.
Must Have Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, and/or credit management
- Ability to read credit reports and ascertain credit criteria.
- Experience with credit reporting tools like D&B, Equifax, and Sterling.
Like To Have Qualifications:
- Industry-specific experience is not required, but experience in an industrial setting with larger ticket purchases would be ideal.
