The Stanley's Bar and Grill Restaurant Porter is part of the team responsible for excellent guest and food service. Main duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the serving team with table maintenance and clearing. Aiding the kitchen dish team with sorting and dish restocking. communicating with both front of house and back of house servers and supervisory team.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve guests and contribute to a positive experience; hello & smile
• Act as the main communication between FOH & BOH operations
• Assist serving team, when necessary, by clearing and maintenance guest tables
• Maintain sanitary conditions by following Food Safe & Company guidelines
• Ensure presentation reflects established guidelines
• Follow set-up, mid or closing procedures, depending on shift and supervisor direction
• Comply with established company guidelines for waste management and HACCP
• Clean floors, walls, counters, in dining room and service areas,
• Polish glassware and cutlery when needed
• Keep restaurant and storage areas stocked and organized with dishware
• Maintain a positive, team oriented work environment
• Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
• Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
• Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest's health and safety
• Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
• Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person's safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes
Qualifications:
• Previous guest service an asset
• Food Safe Level 1 certification, Serving It Right considered an asset but not necessary
• Strong communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences Guests are amazed by
• Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
The wage for this position is $18.90 per hour.
