About the Role:

National Refrigeration is currently seeking a Junior Buyer to join our Brantford team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with, and backing up, Purchasing Department associates to purchase parts and materials as required by manufacturing schedules, while meeting cost reductions, and delivery requirements. The individual will possess knowledge of Canadian and USA customs regulations, strong communication skills, and will utilize Microsoft Windows, Office, and AS400 programs to complete daily job tasks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Issue, modify or cancel purchase orders as required.
• Update purchase orders per order acknowledgements.
• Maintain stock master pricing and update accounting as required.
• Maintain VMI programs and request material as required.
• Assist with daily Shortage/Expedite report to manage inventory and cover production needs.
• Ensure all purchase orders have been received by vendors through daily reporting.
• Track and follow up on unreceived purchase orders and expedite as required.
• Correct receiving errors in the system as required and enter missed line items.
• Maintain inventory accuracy in the system as advised.
• Receive material into external warehouses and request material from there for production as required.
• Complete orders for daily material needs from Kanban system and blanket order releases.
• Take part in annual physical inventory.
• Negotiate vendor terms and identify cost savings opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

• Post-Secondary Education and a minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience
• Certified, pursuing or interested in pursuing a Supply Chain Management Designation or diploma

Location: 159 Roy Blvd., Brantford ON, N3R 7K1 (On-site, 5 days a week)

Hours of Work: Monday Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
