Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial contractors, builders, and developers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and on-site visits.
- Provide expert product recommendations and technical support on lumber, engineered wood products, and other building materials.
- Prepare and deliver quotes, bids, and proposals to customers, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Collaborate closely with the estimating and inside sales teams to ensure smooth project execution and product availability.
- Monitor market trends, project developments, and competitor activities to uncover new sales opportunities.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Conduct regular job site visits to support customer satisfaction and resolve any concerns.
- 3 to 5 years of successful outside sales experience within the commercial construction or building materials industry.
- Strong understanding of lumber, engineered wood products, and structural building components.
- Proven experience selling to general contractors, subcontractors, and developers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about business development.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform take-offs is an asset.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
