Are you a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for marketing, public relations, and digital engagement? Durrell Communications is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join our team in a co-op position. This role provides hands-on experience in marketing strategy, content creation, public relations, and digital media, working directly with clients to enhance their brand visibility and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Assist in drafting press releases, articles, and organizational publications.
  • Create compelling content for social media, digital marketing campaigns, and public relations efforts.
  • Develop and maintain social media engagement strategies, ensuring active interaction with online audiences.
  • Collaborate on newsletters, case studies, and other promotional materials.

Marketing & Public Relations Strategy:

  • Support the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, and social media advertising.
  • Research target audiences and assist in executing marketing campaigns tailored to client needs.
  • Help manage online advertising efforts, including Google Ads and social media promotions.
  • Assist in coordinating media outreach, press events, and PR initiatives.

Media Relations & Communications:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts.
  • Assist in organizing media events, press conferences, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Draft media pitches and support the team in securing media coverage.
  • Monitor and report on social media and marketing campaign performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on analytics to improve engagement and outreach.

Project Management:

  • Track client projects and ensure timely execution.
  • Collaborate with account managers to meet campaign objectives.
  • Assist in planning and overseeing client events.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools such as Canva, WordPress, Sprout Social, and Google Ads is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of PR, media relations, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
