Inovata Foods Corp. is looking for a full-time Sanitation Lead hand to partner with us as we bring families and friends together through offering wholesome and convenient meals. The role is located in our Tillsonburg, Ontario facility. Inovata Foods Corp. is a major producer of wholesome control brand frozen meals for many of North America's largest retailers.

Primary Responsibilities:

-General state of cleanliness of the production, boxing, and warehouse facilities
-Follows written Cleaning Protocols to ensure that equipment is cleaned properly.
-Provides assistance with the cleanliness of the lunchroom, washrooms and locker facilities
-Implementation and follow-up of the sanitation program
-Inventory control and allocation of chemicals and other sanitation expendables
-Ensure the proper use of all equipment available for use.
-Records the chemical concentrations daily, on each shift.
-Follow all company food safety programs including GMP's to produce the highest quality product for our customers.
-Sets the example of working safely and instructs the team in performing their work in a safe manner.
-Must participate actively in providing a safe and clean environment for all employees at Inovata Foods.
-Aids in assigning tasks to Sanitation Associates when asked for assistance by the Sanitation Supervisor
-Responsible for reporting any damaged equipment because of sanitation practices.
-Responsible for accurately completing all paperwork generated for the HACCP and SQF programs in place for the equipment that they clean.
-Assists in the maintenance of good employee relations through ongoing communication.
-Works with fellow Sanitation employees in their day-to-day activities based on limited resources and to promote teamwork in the department.
-Assists with the inspection of equipment prior to handoff to the QA department for Post- Sanitation Inspection
-Provides feedback to the Sanitation Supervisor and Sanitation Manager relating to employee job performance and behavior.
-Works with the Sanitation Supervisor to ensure that the Environmental program is performed as written, following up on all results as required with the Quality Specialist.
-Ensure that equipment is clean by performing a post-sanitation inspection and that equipment is clean prior to the commencement of production operations.
-Adhere to all GMPs, Food Safety and Food Quality programs (SQF, HACCP) as mentioned in our written programs to produce the safe and good quality product for our customers.
-Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:

-Experience in Sanitation, preferably in a food processing environment.

-Understanding and application of GMPs, HACCP, and SQF programs.

-Skills in record-keeping, especially related to chemical concentrations and sanitation checklists.

-Ability to work collaboratively in a team and promote a safe working environment.

-Comfortable with working varied shifts, including weekends and off-hours when necessary.

-Physically able to work in damp, cold environments and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working Conditions:

We strive to help our team members maintain a positive balance between life and work. This position has daily exposure to a food processing environment which includes dampness and cold. Position may require varying start times and extended working hours with occasional weekends to facilitate customer presentations and attendance and production trials and first runs.
