KEDC is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in Port Hardy, B.C. The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, ensuring the smooth functioning of various HR-related processes.

This is not a remote position and requires relocation to Port Hardy, located on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, BC. Port Hardy serves as a gateway to natural beauty and cultural heritage. Nestled in a region of breathtaking rainforests, rugged coastlines, and vibrant marine life, the town offers a rich tapestry of community and history.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries related to procedures, benefits, and day-to-day employee support.
  • Assist in coordinating the onboarding efforts and ensuring candidates are a strong cultural and role fit and are well-integrated into the organization.
  • Support the employee lifecycle, including addressing employee concerns or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and stay informed of general HR compliance requirements.
  • Assist with payroll-related tasks as needed.
  • Focus on building and maintaining a positive workplace culture through communication, employee engagement, and regular team events.
  • Plan and coordinate employee events and recognition activities to promote morale and team cohesion.
  • Working with the cultural committee to enhance employee engagement.
  • Support employee engagement by actively listening to employee feedback and fostering open communication.
  • Collaborate with managers on employee reward initiatives and morale-boosting strategies.
  • Assist in organizing learning and development opportunities to support employee growth and understanding of job expectations.
  • Conduct exit interviews and gather feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Coach and support managers on techniques to motivate their teams and enhance engagement.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Two years of related experience in Human Resources.
  • Previous experience in Benefits Administration and Training preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or Diploma in Human Resources.
