The Nature Trust of British Columbia is a leading non-profit land conservation organization dedicated to protecting critical habitat for wildlife, fish, and plants in BC. Since 1971, we have secured over 180,000 acres of ecologically significant land.

The Nature Trust of British Columbia (NTBC) is seeking a highly organized and results-driven individual to join our Development, Marketing & Communications team as a Development and Data Coordinator. This role is integral to ensuring efficient fundraising efforts, enhancing donor relationships, and maximizing revenue. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nature, conservation, and B.C., highly detail-oriented, and focused on the ultimate goal of raising more funds to support our mission. Attention to privacy and confidentiality is essential when managing sensitive donor information.

The successful candidate is someone whos comfortable reaching out, following up with professionalism and warmth, and keeping conversations donor centered. They understand the importance of accurate, well-maintained data in driving long-term fundraising results, and thrive on staying organized and detail focused. Experience in fundraising, donor database management, donor stewardship, or CRM-driven client engagement would be a great fit.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Vancouver, B.C. The role reports to the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Raiser's Edge Data Processing and Management: Input, compile, and manage donor and gift data in Raiser's Edge NXT, ensuring high data accuracy and integrity. Efficient data management is key to driving effective fundraising efforts.
  • Tax Receipting: Ensure compliance with CRA regulations when issuing tax receipts for gifts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation to support donor trust and continued generosity.
  • Collaborate with Finance team: Reconcile donations and ensure that all received funds are accounted for correctly in the Raiser's Edge database. Accurate tracking directly supports fundraising success.
  • Donor Stewardship: Enhance donor relationships through timely thank-you calls, personal outreach, and physical thank-you cards for in-memory and in-honour gifts. Focus on building long-term engagement with select donors, which supports sustained giving and higher donor retention.
  • Fundraising Support: Be proactive in supporting fundraising strategies by keeping donor records up-to-date, ensuring that contributions are acknowledged promptly, and finding opportunities for deeper engagement to increase donation amounts over time.
  • Fundraising events: Play an active role in fundraising and donor events, including our fundraising Gala on October 2nd, 2025. Ensure donor data is captured accurately and efficiently. Evening and weekend commitments are required, along with occasional travel within B.C.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
  • A genuine passion for helping raise funds and supporting environmental conservation efforts, with a focus on driving increased giving.
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge NXT for data processing, reporting, and donor management. Knowledge of how efficient data management contributes to more effective fundraising.
  • The ability to engage and inspire donors, particularly around the importance of environmental conservation in British Columbia. Comfort with talking to donors to build lasting relationships and secure ongoing support.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with accuracy and confidentiality. Your work ensures the integrity of donor data, contributing directly to successful fundraising.
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and contributing to overall development goals to drive more efficient and impactful fundraising strategies.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with basic coding or an interest in learning to optimize systems and reporting that can improve fundraising efforts.
  • Nice to have: Ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with donors and inspire greater financial support for environmental causes.
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
