YOUR DAY TO DAY:

The Manufacturing Manager is a key leader within the production facility, responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the manufacturing proess are running smoothly and efficiently, while meeting quality standards and production targets.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO:

  • Develop and execute production schedules, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and targets
  • Manage labor and equipment to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Hire and lead production staff, addressing performance issues.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and practices, reporting all incidences and implementing preventative measures
  • Ensure compliance to all HR policies and procedures and applicable employment laws
  • Identify and resolve production issues and implement solutions to improve efficiencies and quality.
  • Work closely with Quality and Manufacturing Engineers on production issues and assist in architecting solutions to those issues.
  • Monitor and control productions costs, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Monitor workflow outputs, sets group priorities, and identifies issues to ensure performance to schedule.
  • Proactively manage factory capacity, identifying key resource requirements.
  • Ensures communication of key business objectives and customer issues to employees and upper management
  • Exemplifies and fosters teamwork within the company
  • Identify relevant training needs and opportunities

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of direct work experience with production, inventory and standard cost systems, manufacturing regulations, guidelines and associated standards.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct and motivate a team and influence others
  • Sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products and ERP systems (JD Edwards an asset)
  • Working knowledge of ISO9000 systems
  • Detail oriented and analytical thinker, with strong identification and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams
  • Solid knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.
