Are you ready to be part of something transformational?
We're embarking on a once-in-a-generation renovation that will reimagine the guest experience at our iconic Winnipeg property—and we're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented professional to join us for the journey.
Job DescriptionAs our Engineering Project Coordinator you'll be at the heart of this transformation, working closely with our Director of Engineering and ownership team to support the successful execution of the property's major renovation and engineering projects. This is a project coordination role with a big-picture impact—perfect for someone with a background in architecture, engineering, or construction management who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a knack for keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
What You'll Do:
- Keep Projects on Track: Monitor construction activities on-site and relay updates to the hotel team, conduct walkthroughs, flag issues early, and serve as liaison between contractors and hotel operations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized records of contracts, as-builts, attic stock, inspections, and deficiencies. You'll be the go-to person for everything from monthly leak reports to delivery coordination.
- Site Support & Scheduling: Oversee Out-of-Order (OOO) rooms, coordinate delivery of owner-supplied items, and manage rooms for contractors—all while minimizing disruption to hotel operations.
- Cross-Functional Partnering: Collaborate with Engineering, Revenue, Procurement, and Ownership (KingSett) to ensure alignment, and seamless communication.
- Consultant & Contractor Support: Be the eyes and ears on the ground—providing photos, field dimensions, and existing site information to architects, engineers, and vendors as needed.
- Attend & Contribute to Key Meetings: Represent the hotel in project and ownership meetings; take minutes, keep tech running, and keep everyone in the loop.
- 3+ years of post-graduate experience in architecture, engineering, or a related field
- Experience coordinating large-scale renovation or capital projects in an operational environment
- Proficiency in construction documentation and ability to interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally between ownership, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- At Fairmont Winnipeg, we embrace an on-site work philosophy, inviting you to join us in our hotel. Here, it's more than just work; it's about nurturing the people-centered culture we hold dear.
