The Research Analyst role focuses on conducting research in Local Government asset management, finance and budgeting. Research Analysts are expected to produce articles, white papers, and client case studies. You will also support cross-functional teams by providing timely briefings, assisting with promotional webinar production, researching existing and new markets, and writing targeted client case studies. Success in this position involves a significant amount of written material, strong research skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of government policy, especially in Municipal Government.This Part Time Contract position offers the potential to transition into a Full Time position. Applicants must reside in Canada to be considered.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Researching and staying up to date with policies, legislation, issues, and topics affecting Municipal Government across North America
Provide competitor analysis for new market entry
Researching grant funding opportunities by jurisdiction to produce weekly Municipal Grant Service (MGS) notifications and updates to web-based inventory
Interviewing experts and Municipal stakeholders for industry-oriented articles or case studies
Assist your colleagues with editing and formatting content
Own the writing, editing and production of external and internal material
Researching and summarizing grants, policies, legislation and other details related to existing and new markets for sales teams
Assist in the creation and production of webinars showcasing corporate products and services and/or legislation and funding briefings
Balance multiple projects at once with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree with a focus in Political Science, Social Science, Communications, Statistics, or related field
1-2 years experience writing articles which include news gathering, interviewing, writing, creating stories, writing different types of stories in the way news is produced and consumed
Proven ability to network and effectively communicate the value of PSD's products, services and brand
Experience with Microsoft Suite, G Suite, WordPress and Hubspot
Produce writing that is both accurate and engaging
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, including but not limited to, survey design and analysis, data visualization and data analysis
Knowledge of the public sector, previous experience working in/with the public sector, and/or experience with policy analysis would be considered an asset
Deadline driven individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, creativity, and able to collaborate with team members with professionalism
