About the position:
The Canadian Energy Manager-in-Training Program is a program intended to provide mentorship and support to develop future leaders at Canadian Energy. The Manager-in-Training will learn Canadian Energy operations and procedures as well as develop knowledge of Canadian Energy products. The Manager-in-Training Program is an exceptional opportunity for the selected candidate to enhance their managerial skills and business acumen. While learning from industry leaders at a successful and growing organization, the Manager-in-Training will be empowered to achieve success and embrace the Canadian Energy values of being Honest, Humble and Hungry!
Upon successful completion of the Manager-in-Training Program, the Manager-in-Training will have mastered the skills and knowledge required to independently manage operations at a Canadian Energy Branch. This is an exciting program that will support the selected candidates professional development while accelerating their career trajectory into a manager position.
As a Canadian Energy team member, a typical week will include the following:
- Shadow experienced managers to understand Canadian Energy operations, policies, procedures and products.
- Participate in hands-on training in key areas, including operations, team management, performance monitoring, and customer relations.
- Develop leadership skills by taking on small-scale management responsibilities under supervision.
- Learn to analyze financial and operational reports and collaborate with experienced managers to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work on assigned projects or initiatives to address business needs and demonstrate leadership potential.
- Assist in customer relationship management. Promote a positive business environment forall stakeholders by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic and constructive attitude.
- This position would be responsible for various other tasks and responsibilities as required during the Manager-in-Training Program.
Location:
This position will be located in Edmonton for the first 12 months. During this time, the selected candidate will work with the Edmonton Operations Team to learn processes and procedures. Upon graduating from the Manager-in-Training Program, the selected candidate could be eligible to be offered a full-time position in a Canadian Energy manager position. The location of this position will be determined by availability. Flexibility and enthusiasm for exploring new locations are a key requirement for participants in this program, as this role offers opportunities to grow and contribute in different regions across Canada.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3 to 5 years of experience with a track record of growth in professional responsibilities.
- Proven leadership potential, 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Previous experience in warehousing, automotives, manufacturing, supply chain, or transportation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and results oriented.
- Desire and passion to learn and become an expert in your field of work.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Well-developed critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess problems and implement solutions.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
