The duties and responsibilities of the Project Geologist include, but are not limited to, the following:
Integrating and interpreting all geological/geochemical/geophysical data to assist with database management and map/section creation for reports, presentations, news releases, and website;
Participate in drill hole and development planning;
Collaborate with team members on target generation and ranking exploration priorities;
Collaborate with team members to assist with data management requirements across various projects;
All aspects of Core Logging procedures including data collection, analyzing and interpreting drill core, collecting photographs and following QAQC sampling protocols;
Work with other geologists in the completion of computerized mapping and models;
Preparing/writing internal and external reports, including assessment reports;
Manage and provide technical support to field exploration staff;
Conduct surface geological mapping and geochemical sampling;
Prepare sample submissions to assay laboratories following established QAQC procedures;
Train and oversee junior level geologists and technicians, core loggers and soil samplers;
Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety, community and environmental protection in keeping with Company goals and objectives;
Additional work in and around camp as required.
Qualifications and Skills suited to this position:
Eligible to work in Canada at time of application.
B.Sc. Degree in Geological Sciences or Equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years experience.
Experience with QGIS, Leapfrog, and Microsoft software.
Professional registration with G.I.T or P.Geo. designation.
Obtain and maintain Mine Manager certification (British Columbia).
Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Cooperative team player.
Additional information:
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs throughout a work shift.
Field work location (NW British Columbia) is a remote camp, only accessible by air.
Rotational schedule during the field season is required.
