Location: Toronto, ON (On-site)
Hours of Operation: 1:00pm - 9:00pm EST
*Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.00 CAD hourly
POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead the implementation of designated workflows for the Dailies and Deliverables Department. Provide the expertise necessary to advise on project specifications and aid in the supervision of staff in both local and remote scenarios. Help maintain the expected Company 3 standards of quality for dailies and VFX transcoding of material. Support the processing of media from set to the “lab” to post-production through standardized procedures and proper communication with CO3 colleagues, as well as client teams and other vendors.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Workflow Lead Dailies will be a technical liaison on any Dailies and VFX deliverables project running in the facility. They will aid in the preparation and transcoding of footage based on specifications as required, help develop guidelines and best practices for standardizing the most common processes and deliverables and confirm that workflow procedures determined at each project's start-up are being adhered to per the approved specification documents, in collaboration with the Imaging Science and Finishing teams. Advise on any necessary revisions or special requests.
The Lead will work with the Managers and Supervisors in designing and evaluating appropriate workflow plans for each project, establish as an information resource for Producers regarding dailies and VFX processes and the history of a project, and promote a professional level of communication when interacting with any clients, other vendors, or members of the CO3 team.
They will also be responsible for the following:
  • Participate in training staff to deliver projects with complete accuracy and provide guidance to operators as needed.
  • Ensure deadlines are understood and met, prioritizing overlapping work as appropriate based on feedback from Producers.
  • Develop working relationships with clients and other vendors to maintain the exchange of proper information and documentation.
  • Ensure that the work, information, and metadata is accurate for Dailies and VFX deliverable projects.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues when reported across various projects. Help create and execute solutions as required.
  • Facilitate prompt technical support by responding to internal messages and client requests or questions effectively.
  • Assume the role of the Supervisor or Operator for Dailies and VFX processing in case of troubleshooting, illness/vacation, or excess workload.
  • Collaborate with Global Imaging Science and Dailies subgroups involved in Company 3's workflow refinement and innovation.
  • Work with Post Engineering and IT to ensure all procedures within the deliverables pipeline are functioning effectively and efficiently.
  • Take part in training opportunities and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have prior working experience in the Video/Film Post-Production industry. They must be proficient in working with a variety of post-production software such as Resolve, Express Dailies, Media Composer, and Final Cut, and have a familiarity with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux platforms. Additional desired skills include:
  • Practical experience with a variety of camera capture formats and digital file codecs.
  • Technical understanding of various film & television specifications and standards.
  • Ability to evaluate, learn, and implement new software and hardware.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience leading others, but also able to self-manage and work alone.
