The Role:
At STRIVE, we are partnered with an exciting company in the food production space. We are currently seeking an eagerMaintenance Managerto join and lead a small maintenance team in theirBurnabyfacility.
TheMaintenance Managerwill be overseeing a small team and providing hands-on guidance and mentoring to the maintenance staff. This will be a Monday-Friday day position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Maintenance team to schedule, conduct preventative maintenance, and ensure the safe and efficient operation and repair of all plant equipment.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance operations and efficiency, providing recommendations accordingly.
- Improve and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance systems.
- Plan and schedule maintenance personnel weekly within the plant.
- Supervise the safe and efficient operation of all utilities and equipment used in the production, packaging, handling, storage, and shipment of products.
- Ensure timely ordering, organization, and stocking of required parts.
- Uphold Food Safety & Quality responsibilities as per SOPs and provided training materials, maintaining accurate record-keeping.
- Coordinate with external contractors to ensure safe compliance with manufacturing codes, regulations, and standards (H&S, GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS).
- Oversee Capital Projects assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Train and develop maintenance staff using continuous improvement methodologies.
- Assist senior management in establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets, ensuring maintenance operates within budget parameters.
- Undertake other projects as assigned by management.
Must Have's:
- 5+ years in a leadership position in a manufacturing facility.
- Preferably 2nd or 3rd Class Engineering ticket but open to 4th Class Engineering ticket.
- Excellent hands-on preventative maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical production equipment. A Red Seal Millwright or Electrician ticket is an asset.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including PLC programming
- Stronginterpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
