About the Opportunity

Lauren Services is seeking a highly motivated Civil/Structural Project Engineer to support a client in the utility and energy sector on a 1-year term basis with the possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will report to a Senior Civil Engineer and will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of civil/structural project scopes. The role offers flexible hours (2040 hours per week) and will require travel for site visits within the Kootenay and Okanagan regions.

This opportunity is open only to registered Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) who either reside in the Trail, BC area, within a reasonable proximity to the service territory, or are willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project development and execution of civil/structural scopes across multiple infrastructure and utility projects.
  • Conduct site visits, assess existing infrastructure, and provide engineering recommendations.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, including reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to deliver project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Assist with construction oversight, including site inspections and quality assurance monitoring.
  • Contribute to project planning activities, scheduling, and risk management related to civil/structural deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for project activities.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing in British Columbia (mandatory).
  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in the infrastructure, utility, or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting field assessments and preparing technical reports.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for single or multi-day site visits throughout the Kootenay and Okanagan regions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project team environment.
Additional Information
  • This is a contract role for a 1-year term, with potential for extension based on project requirements and performance.
  • Travel and fieldwork will be a regular and required part of the role.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
