About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Application Specialist with deep expertise in Content Management Systems (CMS), specializing in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and ArcXP. The successful candidate will be responsible for the architecture, development, testing, and delivery of CMS platform-based websites and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate effectively as a senior mentor and key member of the development team.
  • Collaborate with content, product, business, IT, and infrastructure teams to gather, refine, and interpret requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications, storyboards, wireframes, and accurate time estimates.
  • Architect and design backend solutions based on business requirements.
  • Develop, test, and maintain CMS websites and applications.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve web-related technical issues.
  • Deliver enhancements, fixes, and new solutions with fast turnaround times.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution presentations, demos, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs).

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with specialization in AEM application design and development (AEM 6.5+).
  • Strong hands-on experience with AEM building blocks (templates, components, widgets, bundles) and technologies such as HTL, Sightly, Java, JSP, XML, JavaScript, JSON, and HTML5.
  • Experience integrating AEM applications with external systems and web services.
  • Proven expertise with ArcXP CMS, including modules like Page Builder, Composer, Web Sked, and Exchange, and familiarity with its Node.js, serverless, and AWS architecture.
  • Strong background in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools including GitHub, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Solid experience designing, implementing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale web applications.
  • Hands-on development experience with Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPAs) using React or Vue.js.
  • Practical exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong experience with code repositories such as Git, BitBucket, SVN, and SourceTree.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Mandatory Certifications:

  • Adobe Certified Expert (AEM Developer Certification)
  • ArcXP Certified Developer or Partner Certification

Working Conditions:

  • Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend
  • Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Toronto, ON
