Senior Construction Estimator, On Site – Windsor, ONJob Summary: The On Site Senior Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for ICI projects ranging from $1M-$10M range. Working closely with major clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams, this role is essential to success in securing and launching well-planned construction projects. This individual will attend pre-bid meetings/ job walk through's and investigate major project sites. The Senior Construction Estimator will understand and interpret all construction documents, specifications, and bid documents. And will be able to perform complete and accurate material take-offs and prepare sub-trade tender requirements and request for quotes. The role will be responsible for estimates for labor, material, equipment and sub-trade in addition to bid and tender document development.Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including large commercial, industrial, and multi-residential developments.
2. Oversee the pre-construction process, working closely with clients and project teams to evaluate project scope, risks, and opportunities.
3. Manage tendering processes, including analyzing bid submissions, negotiating with subcontractors, and finalizing contracts.
4. Provide cost analysis and value engineering throughout the pre-construction and construction phases to optimize budget and project efficiency.
5. Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all project requirements are clearly understood and reflected in the estimates.
6. Coordinate with the construction management team to ensure smooth transition from pre-construction and estimating to project execution.
7. Perform risk assessments and provide value engineering solutions to optimize project costs.
8. Review historical data and apply unit prices and productivity factors to establish benchmark estimates.
9. Track and analyze project costs, timelines, and performance to provide feedback for future estimates.
10. Stay up-to-date with current market trends, material prices, and industry standards.
11. Lead and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and expertise in estimating best practices.
    

Qualifications / Experience:

1. Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction estimating
2. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
   Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
3. Experience in pre-construction, tenders, and construction management.
4. Proven prior experience estimating on ICI building construction projects in the $1-$10 Million range
5. Extensive experience working on industrial construction projects (e.g. manufacturing, warehousing facilities) in addition to commercial projects
6. Well versed in estimating for a variety of projects such as: manufacturing plants, warehousing, multi-residential, offices, plazas, restaurants, tenant and Landlord leasehold improvements etc
7. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and MS Office Suite.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
9. Leadership experience is a plus.
10. Living in or willing to relocate to Windsor, Ontario
11. Good organizational skills, detailed oriented, superior analytical skills.
12. Strong Excel and computer skills including all MS Office programs
13. Passion for mentoring and coaching junior estimators
14. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
