Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide management with insightful reports and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accurate projections.
- Manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity and financial stability.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll, maintaining accuracy and integrity.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Utilize and optimize Yardi software for property management accounting, reporting, and data analysis.
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws, and manage external audits.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage property-level accounting, including CAM reconciliations and tenant lease administration related to financial components.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the real estate property management industry.
- Extensive experience with Yardi property management software is essential.
- Proven experience working in a small to mid-sized property management company.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience with CAM reconciliations.
- Knowledge of property tax accounting.
