We are seeking an experienced and proactive Executive Director, Trucks, to join our team and lead the newly created CADA Canadian Trucking Division. More information about CADA is available at www.cada.ca (http://www.cada.ca/) Executive Director, Trucks As our Executive Director, Trucks, reporting to the President and CEO, you will be responsible to: • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Heavy Truck Dealers across Canada, serving as the primary point of contact for their needs and ensuring their perspectives are well-represented within CADA. • Identify and advocate for policy priorities specific to the Heavy Truck sector, working closely with the CADA Government Relations team and relevant external stakeholders. • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting Heavy Truck Dealers, and provide timely insights and recommendations to the CADA leadership team. • Collaborate with other CADA departments to ensure alignment and integration of Heavy Truck initiatives with broader organizational goals. • Organize sector-specific events, webinars, and meetings to foster engagement, share best practices, and create networking opportunities for Heavy Truck Dealers. • Support the development of tailored tools, resources, and services that address the operational and strategic challenges faced by Heavy Truck Dealers. • Act as a key spokesperson for CADA in the Heavy Truck sector, representing the association at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings. Other key responsibilities include: Advocacy, Government Relations, and Regulatory Affairs • Collaborate actively with CADA's Government Relations and Legal & Regulatory Affairs teams, bringing specialized insight into Heavy Truck Dealer and broader Trucking Industry concerns—such as the EV transition for heavy vehicles and potential tariff impacts. • Serve as a key liaison with provincial and federal trucking associations, Provincial Association Executives (PAEs), OEMs, and the American Truck Dealers (ATD, a division of NADA), fostering collaboration, reducing duplication of efforts, and driving collective value. Membership Growth • Work closely with the Member Services and Industry Relations teams to ensure CADA's programs and services are tailored to meet the distinct needs of Heavy Truck Dealers, enhancing existing offerings and developing new initiatives as required. • Lead efforts to promote the advantages of CADA membership in order to recruit and retain Heavy Truck Dealers within both CADA and the Provincial Associations. Heavy Truck Committee Leadership • Act as CADA's primary lead for the Heavy Truck Committee, overseeing its meetings, budgets, and activities. • Ensure the Committee operates in alignment with CADA's governance principles and strategic objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Foster strong working relationships across all CADA departments and key external stakeholders, including Member Services, Industry Relations, Legal & Regulatory Affairs, Government Relations, Marketing & Communications, and Finance The Right Fit The best in this role will bring deep expertise in the commercial trucks or heavy vehicle industry. Working with CADA This is a full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, as well as a fully paid comprehensive benefit package, the equivalent of 4 weeks' vacation, and participation in our Retirement Savings Plan. You'll work Monday to Friday, currently within a hybrid work setting between in-office days at our national headquarters, located in Thornhill, Ontario (Hwy 404/407 area), and remote work from home. Qualifications * Senior-level management experience in the trucking or automotive industry (Dealer and/or OEM) strongly preferred. * Leadership roles on Industry Boards and Councils in trucking or related industry associations would be advantageous * Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) * Business Administration or other relevant degree, and ideally ** Auto Industry Experience/Education ** An undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Communications, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. ** Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation or equivalent experience ** Bilingual (French, English) would be highly desirable How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
