Position Description

Were looking for a motivated and detail-orientedBilingual Marketing & Communications Assistantto support our marketing and communications initiatives this summer. This role will contribute to content creation, website updates, event promotion, and internal communications in both English and French helping us engage our audiences and share our impact. Summary

As a Bilingual Marketing & Communications Assistant, you will assist in drafting and editing bilingual content, updating digital platforms, supporting event marketing, and maintaining the accuracy of our online and print materials. Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team, you will gain valuable experience in content management, brand alignment, digital asset auditing, and internal communications support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and proofread promotional content in English and French, ensuring clarity, cultural relevance, and consistency with the organizations brand voice.
  • Update website content in both languages, ensuring accuracy, relevance, accessibility, and alignment with SEO best practices.
  • Support event marketing activities by developing promotional materials, managing communication timelines, and coordinating logistics for internal and external events.
  • Review and audit web content across multiple sites to ensure consistency, up-to-date program information, and engaging presentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather new content, success stories, and updates for online and offline use.
  • Conduct regular audits of digital assets such as web pages, event listings, newsletters, and partner profiles to ensure a vibrant and informative online presence.
  • Coordinate the translation, review, and approval process for time-sensitive communications including newsletters, press releases, and donor updates.
  • Assist with general marketing administrative tasks as required, supporting the overall success of campaigns and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related program.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and verbal) is required.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both languages.
  • Comfortable using content management systems (such as WordPress or similar platforms); basic knowledge of SEO principles is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset.
  • Ability to learn new tools and adapt communications to different platforms and audiences.
  • Previous experience supporting communications, marketing, or event planning projects is considered an asset, but not required.
  • Must meet eligibility criteria for the Canada Summer Jobs Program (ages 1530 and legally entitled to work in Canada).

Working Conditions:

  • Typical working hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with some requirements to work additional hours, occasionally during evenings and weekends. It may require some flexibility to support high-impact events and programs that run from time to time
  • Travel required within Ontario or Canada for presentations, partnership meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 25 lbs
