Position Title: Account Manager
Reports to: Director of Business Development
Hours of Work: 10:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

The Organization
Sentient HR aims to Empower Educators. Sentient specializes in supply staffing, temporary and full-time staff placements for the childcare industry. Sentient currently operates in the GTHA and Ottawa, serves over 500 centres, and employs over 600 childcare assistants and RECEs (our Educators). Our administrative staff actively seek opportunities to connect childcare centres to the right supply staff during times of need. Sentient can provide supply staff on the same day a request is made by using our user-friendly website, phone, e-mail, or text message. We are also able to provide staff for planned absences and full-time positions. We recruit passionate Educators and provide ongoing professional development to engage their growth mindset. The Role
We are looking for a results and goal-oriented Account Manager with a competitive mindset to meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets through effective inside sales. The Account Manager will be responsible for networking, developing relationships, managing prospect information in the CRM, and closing new business. This role is a hybrid position with the majority of time spent making contact via phone, video conferencing software, and e-mail. However, travel within the Greater Toronto Area will be required to connect with childcare centres in-person on an as-needed basis, as well as travel to our Markham office for regular staff meetings.
Success
As a trusted partner and an ambassador, the successful candidate will focus on promoting Sentient HR Services, bringing new business to Sentient, selling to childcare centres using a consultative approach. The candidate will own the full cycle, account management process to generate more demand from current clients from cold calling and outreach to close, managing the pipeline, and driving referrals in the GTHA. The successful Account Executive will have an engaging demeanor and personality that will inspire confidence and trust in potential clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Planning
Identifies and sets daily, weekly, and monthly activity goals to successfully meet or exceed quarterly and annual targets.
Identifies and plans strategies and activities for connecting with prospects and building relationships.
Plans, organizes (in conjunction with the Director of Business Development) and attends tradeshows, conferences and virtual/in-person association meetings.
Shares market insights, trends, and feedback on perceptions of brand and value proposition with the team.
Sales Process & Execution
Develops a strong understanding of each step of the sales process and advances prospects through each stage with intentionality and commitment.
Prepares for a prospecting call, does research, anticipates questions, asks questions, and understands the clients needs and the commitment or action to be followed up on.
Effectively connects with prospects in an engaging, empathetic and people focused way using active listening and a consultative selling approach (asking questions and tailoring solutions to meet the needs of the customer).
Effectively communicates our value proposition in a manner that resonates with the prospect while building and promoting strong, long-lasting targeted prospect relationships and acting as a Trusted Partner.
Develops a pipeline of viable opportunities and effectively manages the pipeline, including timely follow up of all leads. Identifies, develops, and nurtures relationships (generating new leads and prospecting accounts).
Effectively wins retainable business and ensures the customer has a successful onboarding experience.
Provides outstanding onboarding and after-registration support to enhance the client relationship, booking at least five (5)+ shifts before transferring them to the Client Care team.
Team Collaboration
Follows company charter and is aligned and exhibits company values. Participates in culture events and activities and recognizes others for exhibiting company values.
Communicates and works effectively and collaboratively with Client Care, Staff Coordinators, and Administration, Marketing and HR to deliver great results for prospects, customers, and other stakeholders in the company.
The Account Manager will provide coverage for the Staffing Coordinator role during absences.
Participates and comes prepared to all daily huddles, 121 coaching meetings, and monthly meetings, and any other cadence/meetings as required.
Participates in additional projects or added responsibilities as needed.
Reporting & Documentation
Completes and submits weekly reports.
Updates the CRM daily and documents all sales phone calls, meetings, and tasks.
Updates key and pertinent information on prospects and competitors in the CRM.
Monitors and updates their pipeline each week
Qualifications and Role Requirements
College Diploma and/or University degree is required
RECE is an asset.
Minimum 2-3 years of successful consultative sales related experience (prospecting, selling, negotiating, and closing).
Proficiency in using HubSpot, CRM platforms, and other data systems to manage customer relationships.
Proven experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire.
