We are currently seeking qualified Powerline Technicians to join our Toronto Hydro Grid Response Team.

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, and team players willing to work shift work plus overtime. You will be eligible to receive a shift premium.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a full understanding of the underground and overhead distribution systems
• Effectively troubleshoot problems within the distribution system
• Repair overhead and underground power lines, insulators, conductors, transformers, switches, and associated equipment
• Conduct and review tailboards, FLHA, and daily safety checklists
• Lead or assist with job hazard assessments, fall protection plans, and critical lift plans

Requirements

• Journeyperson Powerline Technician (Red Seal Certificate or equivalent)
• 5 -10 years distribution experience
• Class 4 Rubber Glove experience
• Valid Class DZ Drivers license (preference to AZ) or equivalent
• Working at Heights Certification
• Live within daily driving distance of the GTA
• CUSW member (must be willing to join CUSW union).
• Previous Toronto Hydro experience is considered an asset
• Current Utility Worker Protection Code (UWPC) Training is considered an asset
