Purpose

The auto detailer restores the aesthetics of all types of cars and trucks to a pristine like new condition through cleaning and glamorizing.

Duties

· Power wash, dry and polish vehicles

· Clean interiors, windows, chrome, floors, upholstery, vinyl, and leather

· Clean vents, cracks and other small places that gather dust using air compressors and other tools.

· Vacuum and shampoo carpets and seats.

· Remove stains and decals.

· Apply finishes and polishes.

· Apply rustproofing and undercoating on occasion.

· Decontaminate for hazardous materials using established best practices.

Skills

· Ability to lift, carry and push moderate weight loads.

· Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and work in awkward positions using ergonomic best practices.

· Ability to pay attention to details.

· Ability to operate the required machinery and equipment, such as, heat guns, carpet shampooers, vacuums, high heat steamers, and other small power tools repetitively.

· Ability to produce consistently high results.

· Conscientious application of chemicals

Qualifications and Requirements

· High school education or relevant experience

· WHMIS training

· Willing and able to use respirators for extended periods of time.

· Ability to apply methodical, repetitive approach to work.

· Taking pride in a job well done.

· Willing to apply best practices to safety in the workplace.

Additional Notes

Auto detailing is repetitive, and physically demanding work involving chemicals and working in an environment that may contain allergens, such as dust, pet hair, and biohazardous waste or body fluids. Aluminum Polishing creates a combustible dust requiring special attention in housekeeping and dust collection to control hazards.
