How You Will Make an Impact
Reporting to the Manager/Supervisor of the Kitchen Aide/Cook will make a difference in the lives of youth by your compassionate, hospitable and non-judgmental manner. You will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and clean-up of lunch and dinner meals for residents and non-residents at assigned youth services locations. Other responsibilities include unloading (some lifting required) and storing properly donations and food orders, job requires cleaning in the kitchen of, including fridges, freezers, and other duties that relate to kitchen/cook work.
Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Applicants should possess an appreciation and understanding of a range of issues including abuse, poverty, homelessness, mental illness and addictions. Applicants must possess a minimum of a Grade 12 education with some kitchen aide/cooking experience, Food Handlers Certificate, a valid C.P.R. certification (or willingness to be certified) and a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity. A valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract is necessary.
