The role
The Technical Sales Engineer creates, defends, breaks, and drives specifications within the (Owner, Engineering, and General Contractor community) The focus of the Technical Sales Engineer will be to promote Terrafix private label products that result in the growth of market share, profitability and client value proposition of the assigned product portfolio.
Job Duties
Product Management
- Remove roadblocks for account managers by driving product market acceptance and where possible, technical specifications on bid documents within the industry, government, engineers and key customers.
- Products outside of the Private Label will be assessed on an individual basis
- Identify new product opportunities, new target markets and new sales channels.
- End-to-end management of the product life cycle from product evaluation, introduction, staff training, and technical support.
- Support Regional Account Management teams through in-depth product, application and market/competitive knowledge that helps differentiate our products and value proposition.
- Participate in key industry associations, conferences, trade shows, events, etc. to promote products, network with industry partners/customers and gain competitive intelligence.
- Assist and strategize with Account Managers to help close critical opportunities.
- Assist with the development of regional and national specifications that drive product selection and adoption.
- Assist with specifications for all private label products in the Subgrade system portfolio.
Business Development
- Assists the regional account managers in recommending products and services through relevant technical knowledge, industry development and education.
- Assists/facilitates in preparing and presenting technical presentations to high-level decision-makers in support of specification development for all roadway system products and applications.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive product management experience, preferably within the civil engineering or geotechnical industry.
- Thorough understanding of civil engineering and construction technology, management and practices.
- Skilled in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
