Responsibilities
- Assist experienced electricians in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment underground.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
- Understanding of Nova Scotia electrical code.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of electrical systems and practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project goals are met.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts, principles, and terminology.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in the electrical trade.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety practices.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and an eagerness to learn are essential.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials as needed.
- High School Diploma required
- Must have 6” High CSA approved Work Boots, Type 2 hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses
- One or more years' experience with construction in residential and commercial environment
- Familiarity with the work of an electrician
- knowledge of equipment and wiring methods
- knowledge of using hand and power tools
- Ability to carry up to 50lbs
- Ability to frequently standing, bending, and walking
