About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, the Graphic Designer brings creative ideas to life through visual storytelling. This position is responsible for conceptualizing and producing high-quality design assets across digital and print formats, ensuring alignment with Amiis brand and campaign goals. The Graphic Designer plays a key role in interpreting abstract ideas and strategies into clear, cohesive visuals, contributing to projects ranging from event promotion to thought leadership. The Graphic Designer works closely with cross-functional teams to meet both strategic and tactical objectives, and is a key contributor to the creative ideation process.

The position focuses on achieving excellence in four main accountabilities:

  • Brand Design & Visual Identity: Uphold and evolve the Amii visual brand identity across all formats and touchpoints.
  • Creative Conceptualization & Asset Production: Transform ideas into clear, compelling visual solutions for campaigns, content, and events.
  • Collaboration & Project Support: Partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver on creative needs efficiently and effectively.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage positive brand engagement with external audiences by monitoring and responding to live chat and social media, and supporting the successful coordination and execution of organization-wide events.

Required Skills / Expertise Key Responsibilities:

Brand Design & Visual Identity

  • Creates, updates, and maintains brand assets that reflect Amiis visual identity and voice
  • Contributes to evolving brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across teams and platforms
  • Reviews materials created by others for visual consistency and provide feedback when needed

Creative Conceptualization & Asset Production

  • Conceptualizes and designs marketing and communication assets that bring creative strategies to life including social media graphics, presentations, reports, ads, posters, event collateral, signage, and merchandise
  • Prepares final assets for both print and digital channels, ensuring they meet technical specifications and visual quality standards
  • Manages multiple design projects with competing deadlines, ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Explores and incorporates Generative AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, DALLE) to support ideation, rapid prototyping, and creative exploration where appropriate

Collaboration & Project Support

  • Works with team members across Marketing, Investment & Partnerships, Events, and other departments to understand project goals and deliver visual solutions
  • Provides input in brainstorming sessions and campaign planning meetings
  • Liaises with external contractors and vendors on design-related deliverables when required

Community Engagement

  • Monitors social media platforms regularly and responds to comments, questions, and messages in a timely and professional manner to foster positive brand relationships
  • Respond to live chat interactions, providing real-time audience support and engagement with website visitors
  • Supports the planning and execution of organization-wide events that foster community engagement, build relationships, and create opportunities for meaningful connections and collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a graphic design or visual communications role
  • Demonstrated portfolio of high-quality work across digital and print mediums
  • Proficiency designing within established brand guidelines and systems
  • Experience contributing to creative direction or campaign concept development
  • Comfortable writing from briefs and conducting stakeholder interviews
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience preparing digital and print-ready assets
  • Proficient using design and workflow tools (e.g., Adobe CC, Figma, Asana, Trello)
  • Familiarity with motion design or basic animation techniques e.g., After Effects or similar (nice to have)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):

  • Expert-level visual design and layout skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong visual problem-solving skills with the ability to translate abstract ideas into impactful visuals
  • Ability to generate and articulate creative concepts that align with project goals and brand strategy
  • Clear and confident communicator who collaborates effectively across teams
  • Curious, creative, and comfortable giving and receiving feedback
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of inclusive design principles and accessibility standards
  • Awareness of Generative AI tools for design, with the ability to evaluate their relevance and ethical use in creative workflows
