THE ROLE Bookkeeper

Reporting to the Director of Finance / Controller, the Bookkeeper will be highly detail-oriented and organized, and responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing routine accounting tasks, and supporting the financial operations of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger accounts
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements
  • Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements
  • Maintain and update general ledger
  • Monitor financial transactions and reports for accuracy and compliance
  • Generate and submit invoices to clients and post corresponding vendor invoices
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of bookkeeper experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
