Position Summary
We are seeking an Intermediate/Senior Estimator who will effectively prepare cost estimates for construction projects or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or services. This role is best suited for a dynamic, outgoing, organized individual who can handle multiple projects at one time.

Position Summary
We are seeking an Intermediate/Senior Estimator who will effectively prepare cost estimates for construction projects or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or services. This role is best suited for a dynamic, outgoing, organized individual who can handle multiple projects at one time.
Other responsibilities include:
- Reviewing project plans and specifications and coordinating with team to confirm complete scope.
- Preparing and reviewing all aspects of RFQ packages.
- Developing a basis of estimating (lump sum, cost plus, or unit rates). Creating or modifying templates used in excel to build pricing.
- Identifying risk issues and their order of magnitude and providing recommendations.
- Gathering information and preparing proposal bid package, instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information.
- Liaising with Project Manager to present key elements of the estimate which will influence the development of bid schedule.
- Providing technical clarification and support to subcontractors during the bid cycle.
- Monitoring the bid deadlines and resolving issues.
- Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and others to ensure that the bids are completed and delivered to the client on time.
- Maintaining quality service by following company standards.
- Participating in meetings and monitoring the progress through different stages of bid and project wrap-ups.
- Maintaining historical data for future estimates.
- Building effective relationships with subcontractors, clients, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the client's expectations.
- Actively participating in local industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree or Alberta Industry Trade certificate or technical background in Mechanical, with a strong mathematical aptitude are required.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of estimating experience within an industrial construction industry especially for Mechanical Piping products.
- Knowledge of industrial construction industry within field and shop is required.
- Knowledge of key principles in bid preparation, pricing, review of bid package and bid closing procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks/projects within a high-pressure work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Projects.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
