Are you obsessed about creating cohesive and consistent user experiences? Helcim is on the lookout for a talented Product Designer specializing in Design Systems to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and improving our Design System while ensuring consistency across all our products.

You will collaborate closely with product designers, managers, and front-end developers to uphold the integrity of our design system. If you have a meticulous eye for detail, excellent system-thinking skills, and a passion for design and technology, we would love to hear from you.

What you will do

• Serve as the gatekeeper for UI and pattern consistency across our design system.
• Ensure design system components and patterns are correctly applied throughout our products.
• Identify mismatches and inconsistencies, devising and implementing plans to resolve them.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design system documentation, including component libraries and guidelines.
• Systematize design solutions to create repeatable and scalable processes.
• Regularly communicate with developers to understand Design System's pain points, strengths, and opportunities.

Who you are

• At least 3 years of experience in UX/UI design, with direct expertise in developing, scaling, and maintaining design systems.
• Strong system thinker with the ability to see how various components fit together.
• Solid understanding of the DOM as well as HTML & CSS to handle constraints and behaviours of real coded components
• Knowledgeable about design tokens and how to logically map them in design systems.
• Possess incredible attention to detail, ensuring every element of the design system is properly designed and implemented.
  
• Able to deconstruct complex objects into first principles, simplifying and systematizing design solutions.
• Have a great eye for design, ensuring our products are both functional and visually appealing.
• Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be located in Calgary for this position. Helcim uses a hybrid work structure where team members can work 3 days in the Calgary office (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) and 2 days (Tuesday/Thursday) at home.
