Business Link is a not-for-profit and government-funded organization responsible for serving entrepreneurs and small business owners and operators in Alberta. Founded over 25 years ago, Business Link has served thousands of companies and organizations through webinars, events, conferences, and direct one-on-one consultation. In addition to providing services, the Company also manages funding programs on behalf of the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada. Business Link partners with many other organizations in the Alberta small business ecosystem.

JOB STATEMENT

As a Strategist, you will assist small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in discovering services available through Business Link and external providers. This role provides trusted advice and valuable services that support clients in starting, running, and growing their businesses.

You are driven by a desire to make a positive impact with Business Link clients, guiding them through the challenges and milestones of their entrepreneurial journey. Building strong relationships with clients, ecosystem partners, industry stakeholders, and diverse communities is a key aspect of your work.

  • Understand client needs and assist in finding business services for entrepreneurs at various stages of their journey.
  • Provide advice and innovative solutions through ongoing business coaching to build strong Alberta businesses.
  • Engage with entrepreneurial ecosystem partners to understand their needs and explore collaboration opportunities.
  • Collaborate with community partners and service providers to enhance client impact.
  • Actively participate in entrepreneurial events and maintain consistent connections with entrepreneurs and stakeholders.
  • Deliver Business Link's entrepreneurial programming through online and in-person channels, providing insights on programming needs.
  • Perform other duties as required to support Business Link's mission and better serve our clients.
  • Degree in business or a related field, or a diploma in business with 2 years of experience.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of small business and entrepreneurship. Personal experience as an entrepreneur or small business owner is an asset.
  • Natural relationship-builder and connector.
  • Excellent communication skills; public speaking experience is an asset.
  • Proficient in online research and comfortable with learning new technologies.
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment with evolving client and organizational needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills; enjoys meeting and interacting with new people one-on-one.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
  • Possesses a Class 5 Driver's License

COMPENSATION

Salary competitive with similar positions for other not-for-profit and government-funded companies (We use the Boland Data)
