Cascadia Metals is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Intown Coordinator to work out of our Delta branch. This position involves a dynamic work environment that is approximately 60% desk-based and 40% outdoor-based, regardless of weather conditions. The successful candidate must be comfortable with various indoor and outdoor responsibilities, including load checks in different weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, arrange and schedule deliveries of orders
  • Prepare shipping documents & verify against production copies
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments
  • Support other team members
  • Provide informed directions and specific instructions to drivers
  • Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders via various communication channels
  • Maintain contact with drivers and stay up to date with the status of each driver
  • Check incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with team members to address logistics challenges and improve operational efficiency.
  • Inspect loads for accuracy before the drivers' departure to ensure all items are accounted for and in proper condition.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of dispatching experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excel and Outlook knowledge is a must
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to multitask
  • Flexible and willing to take on new tasks
  • Familiarity with the Lower Mainland, BC, area
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
