Role: Project Director - Special Projects Location: Vancouver Our client is a growing general contractor in the British Columbia market, specializing in Industrial, Institutional (ICI), multi-family, and commercial projects. There expertise spans a wide range of residential, commercial, and institutional projects, with proficiency in Public-Private-Partnership (P3), Design-Build and Construction Management delivery methods.About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Special Projects to oversee a diverse portfolio of 5-7 projects, with a total value exceeding $50 million. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills to guide a dedicated team of 7-10 professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee a portfolio of 5-7 projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead a team of 7-10 project managers, coordinators, and other construction professionals.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates and reports to senior management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction general contracting, with a focus on commercial, multi-family, and ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) tenant improvements, fit-outs, restoration, and building envelope work.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
