The Opportunity:
As Camp Facility Maintenance, you will be accountable for upkeep duties for Camp Glenn Carpenter, including housekeeping, minor repairs, lawn and trail maintenance, and landscaping.
As a Canada Summer Jobs grant, the ideal candidate should meet the eligibility criteria for Canada Summer Jobs Funding, which includes: being between the age of 15–30.
Responsibilities:
- Completing scheduled preventative maintenance inspections.
- Performing cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, etc.
- Cleaning facilities and program space.
- Gathering and emptying garbage from all areas of the camp, including buildings
- Performing minor repairs and painting, as required.
- Mowing lawns and other yard/garden upkeep.
- Completing equipment checks to ensure proper function and safe operation.
- Ensuring that all areas are clean, safe and well organized.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including rigorous activity: grasping, writing, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods, walking, bending, stretching, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may, on occasion, have to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
- Experience with painting is considered an asset.
- Cleaning experience in a commercial establishments.
- WHMIS training is considered an asset.
- You have demonstrated ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED is considered an asset.
- Candidates would also need to have reliable transportation
- Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check.
