Overview
Our retail channel is continuing to grow at Vessi and we're seeking a New Store Opening (NSO) Project Manager (Contractor) to support the launch of our newest retail store in the Vancouver area! Our goal is to bring our unique vision and customer experience to new communities and we're looking for some extra support to ensure our newest store opens on time, within budget and meets the highest standard of excellence.
From design and construction, to internal project management, this opportunity will also entail coordinating with workstream leads in areas such as Brand, IT, Retail Operations, and HR, managing budgets to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality, liaising with vendors, and ensuring overall project success.

Contract Details:

  • Approx. 20 hours/per week
  • Contract duration: June to November 2024 with possibility of extension

What You'll Do:

  • Efficiently manage project workstreams and allocate resources throughout the project duration
  • Develop, track, and report store opening budgets to senior leadership
  • Conduct comprehensive project management activities, including scheduling meetings, documenting decisions, and providing progress reports
  • Facilitate decisions with key stakeholders that inform store design and layout
  • Oversee design firms and vendors to execute designs and secure necessary approvals within deadlines
  • Document future state standardization of fixtures, millwork, IT infrastructure, etc.
  • Provide in-field oversight to ensure adherence to design specifications and schedules
  • Act as a hands-on liaison with the General Contractor and Design firm at the store site
  • Serve as the go-to person for anything related to the property site, coordinating with vendors, receiving deliveries, and ensuring smooth operations
  • Manage relationships with the landlord and tenant coordination team to facilitate necessary approvals and resolve any site-related issues promptly

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within the retail industry
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from initiation to completion, on time and within budget
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, franchisees, and external partners
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges
  • Flexibility to travel as required for site visits and project coordination (within Vancouver area)
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional results and contributing to the success of franchisees
