Who You Are 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

As a Staff Accountant, you will be learning on-the-job accounting experience from working inside of a private company. You will be supporting both Scootaround Powered By WHILL and WHILL's accounting divisions on day-to-day accounting tasks by maintaining and reconciling accounts. Furthermore, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

What That Actually Involves

• General Accounting: Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. 
• Financial Records Management: Maintain and organize financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other supporting documentation, in a systematic and efficient manner. 
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by reviewing and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, onboarding customers & vendors in our ERP system and following up on outstanding payments or receivables as needed. 
• Compliance and Audit: Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, as well as preparing schedules and documentation for internal and external audits. 
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess accounting processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for streamlining and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
• Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and management, to provide accurate financial information, address inquiries, and support decision-making processes. 
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and actively participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills. 

What You Bring

• Excellent Office 365 skills including Excel, Power BI, Power Automate. 
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 
• Aptitude for using technology and programming to streamline accounting functions. 
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
