Job Summary:

The Inventory Control and Warehouse Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory flows in our organization. His/her job description involves coordinating the outflow and inflow of inventory, as well as incoming/outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, loading, and storage activities. You will provide optimal support for all departments with regards to inventory controls and valuation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan every activity that relates to inventory control in the organization or warehouse environment.
  • Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored properly.
  • Receive and issue warehouse stock products to work orders and sales orders.
  • Ensure materials are checked against vendors' invoice/packing list, bills of lading, customer supplied orders, and follows proper shipping and receiving processes and procedures.
  • Examines shipment contents and compares with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
  • Complete cycle counts as required.
  • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as received; tracks orders and investigates problems.
  • Report daily stock transactions, outflow, shortages, inaccuracies, and write-offs.
  • Compile inventory information.
  • Inventory Key Performance Indicators: location accuracy and absolute variance.
  • Partner with Finance Department weekly ensuring inventory is properly valued.
  • Process all shipping documents for domestic, US and overseas.
  • Determines method of shipment and prepares bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Estimates freight or postal rates and records shipment costs and weights.
  • Installs straps, braces, and padding to loads to prevent shifting or damage during shipment.
  • Directs and participates in cargo loading to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.
  • Tracks delivery progress of shipments and keeps records of all goods shipped.
  • Able to perform kitting and final assemblies.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
  • Physical:
    1. Sitting, Standing, and Walking.
    2. Carrying, Stooping, Lifting and Reaching.
    3. Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Mental
    1. Mathematical: advanced Math, including geometry and trigonometry.
    2. Language: English, both oral and written.
    3. Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency.
Education & Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Must have the ability to analyze problems, eliminate unreasonable causes, and develop solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and technical skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up.
  • Performs well in a fast-paced environment and can multitask with ease.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years inventory control, shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating lifting equipment (including Order Picker/Cherry Picker/forklift)
  • Experience with international customs documentation
  • 2+ years of experience with ERP system
Working Conditions:
  • Hours of operation: 7:30am to 4:00pm
  • Overtime as required.
  • Shop Floor Environment.
