Blackstone is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance & Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This is a one year term opportunity with the possibility to extend. This position offers the ability to use skills gained in quality assurance to promotes the organizations quality management system by creating quality focused initiatives through the development, improvement and refinement of practices, processes and equipment.

The Quality Assurance & Safety Coordinator will promote quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success of the Quality Program. Your role will include dimensional and visual inspections of parts, components, shipments and special processes, verifying specifications against drawings and documentation using a variety of measuring equipment. Calibration of Metrology tools and equipment and Development and implementation of SOP pertaining to shop processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the quality team in the development, implementation & maintenance of Quality Management Systems as per ISO 9001, API Q2
  • Carries out quality assurance projects and activities in accordance with customer, ISO, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains quality management system documentation through collaborative creation/editing, distribution and control
  • Coordinate with the production teams and leaders in the development of work procedures
  • Assist the quality team with the internal & external audits as per industry standards
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives through participation and/or initiation of focused improvement activities
  • Utilize AutoCAD software to create and modify technical drawings, and to analyze and optimize maintenance workflows
  • Support the production team in the investigation of product nonconformities to eliminate the cause of deviations in a corrective action format
  • Ensure all quality records are being maintained and updated on a regular basis
  • Experience in a Metrology Lab
  • Audit, Generate/coordinate sub-contracted products and processes
  • Audit, perform, and record in–process, first–off, inspections at all stations to established internal or customer standards.
  • Audit, generate Non–Conformance Reports (NCR), and review for trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Audit/ensure all measuring instruments are sound and calibrated to established internal/documented standards.
  • Develop written work practices, implement, and train others and implement

Qualifications

  • 1- 3 years of experience in a quality assurance position, ideally in an industrial maintenance setting or something comparable
  • Experience in a Machine Shop environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software, with the ability to create and modify technical drawings and schematics
  • A solid understanding of ISO9001 and other quality management system requirements
  • Able to understand engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and procedures, including root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to analyze problems/opportunities for efficiencies and make recommendations for improvements
  • Knowledge of performance measurement methods and statistical analysis
  • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a demanding environment
