Your Opportunity:

Are you a seasoned People & Culture Generalist with a knack for Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) Claims Management and Disability Claims Management? Join our dynamic team in Edmonton and be a pivotal force in our growth! In this role, you will spearhead the optimization of our WCB processes, oversee modified work and return-to-work programs, and handle a variety of Generalist tasks. Reporting directly to the Director of People & Culture, you'll be instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Come make a meaningful impact with us!

Your Day to Day:

  • Oversee all aspects of WCB claims management, from initial reporting to resolution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop modified work and return-to-work plans in collaboration with employees and management
  • Monitor and track cases while providing guidance and support to employees
  • Act as a liaison between employees, management, and external stakeholders to resolve issues effectively
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with the People and Culture team to deliver timely transactional and administrative support
  • Assist the People and Culture team with daily tasks including benefit administration, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training management, employee relations and engagement, investigations, HRIS administration, data entry, and project management.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years progressive Generalist experience required
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation required
  • Proven experience in WCB administration and disability claims management
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • In-depth knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards Code, Human Rights Act, and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
  • Unmatched written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
