Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer to support several projects in the potash, mining, and heavy industry sectors. The Structural Engineer will support capital, wellfield, and management of change projects at various stages including conceptual and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, execution, and operational turnover. The scope of work includes managing project scope, engineering design, vendor coordination, package management, and acting as an owner's representative for all structural engineering project requirements.

Responsibilities include:

-Provide design and technical support including calculations, concrete/steel/building finishes design, design sketches, material take-off, design drawings review, field investigations, and solutions for study, construction, and repair of mining/heavy industry structures.

-Ensure engineering details are coordinated between various project stakeholders.

-Review and identify scope overlap and gaps of handover documents.

-Provide technical assistance, guidance, and direction to engineering partners and sub-consultants.

-Facilitate technical meetings with project stakeholders.

-Track, monitor and manage progress of engineering deliverables and structural engineering scope for the overall design of the projects.

-Audit and review structural engineering deliverables including but not limited to scope of work, material take-offs, elevations, plans, specifications, reports, sections and details, vendor/shop drawings, etc.

-Report on quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of engineering drawings with design standards.

-Review and support updating specifications and standards as required.

-Support the development of RFI's for engineering and vendors.

Salary: Open to wage negotiations based on experience and qualifications.

This is an in-office Monday-to-Friday role with occasional trips to the site as needed.

Requirements

• Professional Structural Engineer registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Saskatchewan.
• 10 to 15+ years experience in heavy industrial.
• Experience with heavy industrial structures.
• Able to write detailed scope of work, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong knowledge in design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in design software and finite element analysis programs. SAP2000 and STAAD.Pro.
• Strong interpersonal skills and capable of working in a collaborative team-based environment.
• Capable of periodic travel to project sites for field measurements, investigation, and meetings.
