THE ROLE

Our client is a well-respected Engineering Consulting firm, adding value to their natural resources, engineering and forestry services to their Western Canadian clients. With over two decades and over 200 staff throughout BC, they are now reaching the next stage in their business.

As they continue to grow, they require a qualified Senior Accountant to help achieve strong reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Providing support to the CFO
• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Preparing ad hoc reports and analyses, including cost and revenue analyses
• Assisting with all budget and forecasting requirements
• Researching and providing recommendations on accounting and compliance issues;
• Providing cross-training and support for all accounting functions
• Leveraging existing accounting software to enhance reporting metrics
• Completing ad hoc projects as requested by management

Qualifications

• CPA or MBA designated
• Experience in engineering or other professional services firm is advantageous
• Extremely familiar with Excel
• Comfortable with auditing and creating working papers
• Flexible to work on different accounting projects and variety of assignments
