Position Summary

The Sales Manager is a professional, customer-orientated, and highly-motivated individual responsible for leading the Sales Department to exceed its goals. The main responsibilities include planning, organizing and controlling department activities in order to meet sales quotas and objectives. The Sales Manager will provide training, mentorship and development to the Sales Team and will reinforce policies and operating procedures as needed. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Sales Manager works closely with all areas of the business to ensure customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and goal achievement of the Sales Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Sales Department in meeting its sales quotas and reinforce profit objectives on a daily, monthly and annual basis
  • Assist General Sales Manager in forecasting including vehicle inventory, gross objectives, expenses and employees
  • Interview, hire, train, develop, and motivate the Sales Department team
  • Organize and conduct Sales Department meetings and updates as needed
  • Manage and develop team through regular feedback and quarterly/annual performance reviews
  • Participate in all product training in order to maintain a high level of product knowledge
  • Ensure each salesperson follows all dealership processes and procedures to guarantee customer satisfaction and retention thereby creating an excellent Customer Satisfaction Index rating on the sales, delivery and follow up
  • Handle elevated customer issues or complaints until resolution
  • Identify and implement strategic opportunities for improvement in department processes

  • Technical Skills & Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Sales Manager role in the automotive industry
  • Automotive sales knowledge and experience is required
  • Post-secondary training is an asset
  • Valid VSA license
  • Valid BC driver's license
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Commitment to continuous learning to update industry knowledge

Logistical Requirements

This is a full-time position that may require working extended hours, including weekends, in order to meet deadlines based on the needs of the business. We are looking at expanding our current Sales and Management teams at each location.
