Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Welder is involved in applying chromium carbide overlay by using semi-automatic process (wire welding) to flange faces or internal components. This role is primarily performed in a fabrication shop environment and may be physically demanding.

Start Date: June 3, 2024

Location: Edmonton, AB Fabrication Shop

Shift: (4&3) Days or Nights (Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days/nights)

Hourly Rate: $42.47 - $52.44

(Inclusive of employer contributions for vacation/statutory, health and welfare, RSP, RSP Matching, and education and training)

Night Shift Premium: Additional $3.00/hr

JOB DUTIES

• Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
• Read and interpret weld procedures to determine requirements of the job
• Apply chromium carbide overlay on flange faces or internal components such as Tees and piping connection branches
• Grinding and gouging tasks occasionally
• Clean and check welds for defects
• Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
• Occasionally working in a confined space
• May perform other duties as assigned such as forklift and overhead crane operation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Alberta registered apprentice, journeyman, or B-pressure welder
• Experience in overlay application is an asset
• ESC confined space ticket
• Overhead crane and rigging ticket
• CSTS-09 and/or CSTS-20
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Must be physically able to lift 50lbs
• Organized and self-motivated
