  • Install, configure, and support an organization?s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet system or a segment of a network system.
  • Responsible for monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users.
Education/Experience.
  • Associate degree in computer related field required.
  • Bachelor degree in computer science preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years experience required.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Ability to identify, interpret and evaluate system and network requirements.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software as it related to LAN/WAN.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
  • Configure, monitor and maintain email applications or virus protection software.
  • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The Command Centre Desktop System Analyst is responsible for providing end user device related provisioning services which may include desktop hardware (laptop, desktop, tablet, printer) branch peripherals (cash recycling unit, thermal printer, cheque scanner, pinpad) key business applications, and associated network configurations for major projects, and IMACD activities, across BMO's Pathway Connect and Harris Connect Win10 desktop platforms. Accountabilities
  • Manage end-user device provisioning tasks for various branch and tower activities
  • Fulfill provisioning requests for desktop/laptop install, move, add, change, delete (IMACD) activities
  • Update backend database and host configurations for end-user devices
  • Follow established testing protocols for core business applications and peripherals
  • Work with internal and external partners, including on-site technicians, to provide services
  • Utilize ServiceNow workflow to manage and assign requests, identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide costing and work effort estimates to various project requests
  • Identify and implement automation of select functions
  • Simplify and eliminate complexity from existing processes
  • Handle escalations and manage customer expectations in a professional manner
Knowledge and Skills
  • 5-7 years of work experience in IT environment and/or degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop platform and associated infrastructure
  • Familiarity and troubleshooting desktop platform, network, and application issues
  • Thorough understanding of network and domain technologies including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple competing deliverables
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good interpersonal skills when interacting with clients and co-workers
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical
