Salary:

Coast Canmore Hotel and Conference Centre is seeking a full-time Sales and Catering Manager - Weddings for a 18 Months contract to cover a maternity leave.

Objective:

Assist Sales & Catering department in servicing business to work towards meeting and exceeding financial and service goals by a focused and targeted effort to assigned group markets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sells and services group business for the hotel with a primary focus on weddings, small groups under 12,

Table Private Dinning and Catering only enquiries.

  • Participating in achieving financial targets for sales in catering segments.
  • Prepare wedding proposals, contracts, cost estimates and invoices.
  • Conducts hotel site tours.
  • Attends and participates in the weekly BEO & Resume meetings.
  • Creating BEO's, Floor Plans and Group Resumes for incoming groups.
  • Generates reports for the team as assigned by the Senior Conference Services Manager
  • Effectively and efficiently servicing corporate groups with their catering requirements as assigned, including coordinating rooming lists, cut off dates, catering requirements, set-ups, audio visual needs, etc.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Support and relief for other members of the sales and catering team.
  • Organize and participate in sales calls, sales trips, and tradeshows appropriate for the assigned markets.
  • Network with wedding planner and vendors to generate leads.
  • Create flat sheets and flyers with wedding promotions.

Education & Skills:

  • Must be familiar with weddings and corporate groups.
  • Previous Sales & Servicing experience in a hospitality setting.
  • Able to work on Saturdays on a rotation schedule.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta Driver's License and owning a vehicle to drive to Banff, Calgary, Edmonton and other regional areas is an asset.
  • Able to work independently, self-motivated.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the hotel sales processes, and catering processes from start to finish. A solid understanding of the Banquet department is an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellence in guest satisfaction.
  • Organized, detail orientated individual with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Previous Food and Beverage/Banquet/Event planning experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook required.
