Summer Student - Maintenance

Compensation: $16.00 per/hour

Work Shift: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm - ending August 30, 2024

Job Description:

Diversified Transportation is currently looking for a Summer Student to join its team at our Edmonton location. This summer position is directly responsible for general labour duties both within and outside of the facility. This is a full-time temporary position with an end date at the end of August 2024.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Previous landscaping, janitorial and/or labourer experience is preferred
• Class 5 driver's license preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
• Must possess strong abilities to follow oral or written instructions as required
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with shop staff and trades
• Work in a team oriented, culturally diverse workforce

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lawn maintenance, such as cutting grass, weeding, bagging and disposing of grass clippings and weeds
• Painting of miscellaneous items around the facility
• General clean up, sweeping and tidying up of indoor/outdoor areas
• Assist with minor building repairs
• Movement of office furniture & supplies
• Various other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age
