THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a meticulous, organizational wizard to join our team as a full-time Accounting Clerk! Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will have a strong focus on accounts receivable while also handling other general accounting & payroll duties.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare cheque deposits and accurately apply all payments to customer accounts daily.

- Maintain customer accounts and assist the collections department with account discrepancies, reconciliations, and adjustments.

- Handle all customer payment inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

- Complete month-end procedures including various recurring journal entries and bank and credit card reconciliations.

- Record front counter sales and reconcile cash payments.

- Attend and assist with annual inventory counts.

- Keep organized documentation required for annual financial statement audit.

- Various remittances (WCB/Insurance).

- Additional accounting duties as assigned.

- Previous accounts receivable experience considered an asset.

- Experience using accounting software.

- Professional written and verbal communication skills.

- Extremely organized, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.

- Reliable team player, while also capable of working independently.

- Takes initiative and has a strong sense of accountability.

- Skilled in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

PLEASE NOTE: Local applicants only, this is a 100% in-office position. Working hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
