Reporting to: Provincial Sales Manager

Charton Hobbs is one of Canada's largest privately held wine & spirits importer, committed to delivering exceptional and diverse wines and spirits to consumers. With a focus on quality and innovation, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Retail Chain & Key Account Manager to join our team. This role will specifically focus on managing key accounts, with a special emphasis on cultivating and enhancing partnerships with regional chains. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies to drive sales, strengthen relationships, and maximize brand presence across the province as well as including key accounts throughout Regina and Saskatoon. This position is the lead for retail development with impact across Chain accounts, supplier relationships, inter-agency collaboration, and portfolio development.

In this role you will work with exciting and prestigious brands such as Veuve Clicquot, Hennessy, Famille Perrin, Osoyoos Larose, Foley Wine Estates, Chateau Miraval, Luxardo, and many more. In addition to managing the assigned territory, you will be working closely with our marketing and sales teams to assist and often lead the execution of trainings and events. There will be set KPI's and targets consistent with the make-up of this territory, which may include regional chains such as Costco, Sobey's, Willow Park, Urban Cellars, Coop and others.

Responsibilities:

Key Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including regional retail and On Premise chains and other strategic partners.
  • Sell in listings to Chain and Independent retail stores according to bi-monthly distribution goals.

Regional Chains Partnerships:

  • Identify and prioritize retail chain stores and restaurant chain partnerships aligned with business objectives.
  • Negotiate and establish mutually beneficial agreements with key retailers and restaurant chains to promote and distribute our products.
  • Collaborate with sales manager and marketing team to align retail programming to create impactful programming and execute and follow up for campaigns for chain partners.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic account plans, including specific initiatives for key accounts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.

Sales Performance:

  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and implement strategies to address challenges.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, distribution, and supply chain, to ensure seamless execution of account and partnership strategies.
  • Provide feedback and insights from key accounts and regional chain partners to inform product development and marketing strategies.

Customer Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for retail accounts and restaurant chain partners, ensuring exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education.
  • Proven experience in a sales capacity in the province of Saskatchewan.
  • Strong understanding of the beverage-alcohol industry, including trends and dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for both key accounts and partnerships.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and other relevant software.
  • WSET and/or related certifications are preferred.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work is required as well as ability to travel out of country on occasion.
